A hydraulic engineer Hatherly, has come to Holmes for a solution to a problem.

Hatherly, before, had met a colonel, LysanderStark, dealing with him to repair a hydraulic machine for a secret issue.
Colonel Stark, with his German teammates and his assistant Ferguson had planned to obtain Fullerton earth, a precious resource from his and his neighbouring field as a secret mission. But, the engine, a hydraulic one was repaired and hence needed service. As Hatherly dealt with Stark, he had repaired the machine. But,
Hatherly found out that this, was a illegal business,handled by a criminal gang. Soon Hatherly realises that, he was in the wrong path tried to escape.
“He had heard enough”Stark said shutting Hatherly in. Trying to escape, Hatherly fell and started running so fast, but some pain some shed of blood, something missing, oh! My thumb!!!!!!!!!. By the struck of their on rod he fell unconscious.After recovery, Hatherly was in a hospital with a great injury.
This,not believed by police Hatherly visited Holmes. Searching the place of incident, finally meets the house with a thumb down in the garden. Wait, a sense smoke.
