The copper beeches summary:
It was around ten in the morning when Holmes receives a letter producing a information,that of meeting someone called Violet Hunter at 11:30 in bakers street.
The bell rang, and there came Miss Hunter seeking advice.
Miss Harper had once been a governess to highly honoured people but now out of job. She faces an interview where she meets a strange person named Jephro Rucastle as the receptionist. His conditions were quite stupid but the wage of a high value. The conditions of to cut shorten her hair, wearing an old blue coloured dress was quite different. She was made to sit on the window sill and made to laugh hearing jokes. Once, she saw behind down the window and saw a man looking at her. This considerably increased her curiosity. Then she went on investigating about these stare he happenings were she had found the hair same as of hers but somewhere else. Her hair was on her trunk.
Then who could the owner of the hair be?
She got frightened and ran away.investigating more she finds two big eyes staring at her. It was the none other than the mastiff. He was let open every night. Then she finds a mysterious building where there were tons of copper beeches spread all over.
With her master terrifying her she came to Holmes seeking help. First, why did they keep these rules. With a lot of observation, they came to find that Rucastles daughter had ran away to America, for she did not share her financial property.
From these observations, Holmes came to a conclusion and visited the house when no one present, and broke a door but, saw nothing except for a open skylight with a ladder. Before, he had been informed that all the windows were to be shut, but now one has opened. Rucastle,knowing that his secret to be revealed started chasing them. Mrs Rucastle had been knowing this all along,but been petrified. Their first daughter had been imprisoned by Rucastle and had a severe fever resulting to cut her hair. She was who, perfectly identical to Violet and hence Violet was made to look same as of her, which is shortened hair,blue dress etc.
Thereby, Mr Rucastle’s secret revealed, they had started a new life all over again.
