Yellow face? What is that? Maybe some disease? Or some makeup?
This wonderful case of the “yellow face” describes Holmes’ matchless wits and the method of logical reasoning. Some guy called Grant Jack Munro visits Holmes seeking help with a problem with his wife. Some strange things happen in the neighbourhood. He see’s some face over the window which seems strange. Quite yellowish. What’s that? Is that what they call a “yellow face”?

Plot summary
On a tiresome day, a man, Munro,with such an impatience visits Holmes. Regarding the suspicious manner of his wife he seeks help. It’s said that his wife before was a widow to a brave man, John Herbon in America. He and his child had got a viral disease which led to serious death. His wife,Effie had come to Atlanta and had started her new life with Munro. They were so loving but sudden changes happen. Effie starts trembling with fear,a bit aggressive,irritated,and started keeping secrets from Munro. What led to a sudden change? With this thought the heavy sleeper Munro had had a light sleep. In a sudden he sees someone, maybe his wife,in his room tying the wristwatch and going to the neighbors’. What’s with her and the aggressive old lady in the neighbourhood? Does she have any relation? What’s with Effie and her visit? “It’s all for your sake, you’ll know it later” was the only words with her strange expressions. It’s been days but she kept the secret with her long and even though she kept a promise to never visit them again she breaks it. What’s the issue? Not knowing the solution visits our client, Munro. Alright, is the yellowish face you saw, a girl or a boy? Did you find her strange? These questions were not put to an end. With this in the mind, Holmes tries to make theories and thought of a good but insufficient one. The dead must be back. Maybe it’s John. To put an end to this mystery Holmes silently visits the neighbourhood and smashing the door finds a little girl sitting with a yellow face. What? Effie, caught with evidence revealed that the dead girl still survived and was taken care by a known nurse and had been brought here in the neighbourhood with the nurse as our neighbour. Then, the yellow face was taken. It was a mask for the girl, whose none other than the dearest ex-daughter,Lucy. Her face turned dull and black hence wore this mask. Okay, will Munro accept the girl?Yes.
Once again, with Holmes’ matchless wits he solved the case.
