Plot synopsis:

Sherlock Holmes is a wonderful detective. As Holmes and Watson were recollecting their memoirs, there came up the Musgrave ritual. The Musgrave ritual, being one of the best cases of Sherlock Holmes, was being narrated to Watson……..

There had been a client named Reginald Musgrave,seeking help from Holmes about something….the Musgrave ritual.

Being in a big mansion, Musgrave had a lot of slaves, including a butler named Richard Bruntun and a maid, Rachel Howels. The butler and the maid had some relationship between them. once, when Musgrave went on rounds during the night, spots Bruntun in the library reading some kind of note. He was caught reading something…the Musgrave ritual

THE MUSGRAVE RITUAL:

“Whose was it?

‘”His who is gone.

‘”Who shall have it?

‘”He who will come.

‘”What was the month?

‘”The sixth from the first.

‘”Where was the sun?

‘”Over the oak.

‘”Where was the shadow?

‘”Under the elm.

‘”How was it stepped?

‘”North by ten and by ten, east by five and by five, south by two and by two, west by one and by one, and so under.

‘”What shall we give for it?

‘”All that is ours.

‘”Why should we give it?

“For the sake of the trust.”

What does this note mean???? 

Bruntun was ordered to leave the mansion a week later but he seemed missing sooner. Bruntun being found nowhere in the house, the maid had turned a bit psycho. She laughs alone, cries and suddenly runs somewhere. A few days later, she also turns up missing.

Where are Bruntun and Rachel?????

There was a piece of map found with Bruntun when he was found in the library.

It showed some tree’s and some measurements.

What does those mean????

 

And whats the relation between the missing butler, this map piece and that strange note????

The only relation….Musgrave ritual.

With the tree’s and measurements Holmes found that those measurements were of the tree’s shadows and marked a secret chamber. They somehow managed to find that chamber and went in. All with correspondence to the note. Some secret passage under this…..

a secret chamber!!

Ah! Bruntun! Dead!

How?

Wait! Here is a coin of king Charles-1.

Well that explains the note.

Only one assumption to this murder.

It must have been Rachel.

At first they were in love but then they had some fight. To come to this secret passage, assistance was needed hence, she was called. Maybe due to the hatred, the large stone was pushed and Bruntun, found dead. Not knowing what to do, Rachel became mad and probably must have ran away……

The relation with the notes were…..

 

Well, the note was analyzed, the missing were known now  and the map  led to

THE  MUSGRAVE RITUAL!!!
