Summary: The Reigate Puzzle

Holmes, severely ill, was completely under treatment for days. Then, he regains his health and then visits Forrester. Forrester explains a case, a simple one. It was about some simple burglary at Acton’s house where simple things, so simple were stolen. Such as a ball string, bell, etc. But the trickiest part was,the same things had been stolen from the Cunningham’s too. William, a servant, was shot dead.
Who was the murderer?
A torn piece of paper was found in the hands of the dead.

At quarter to twelve, we will meet..
The witnesses were Alec and his father Cunningham. The only clue found was the remaining part of the paper. Who must have snatched it?
After a lot of investigation, it was found that the paper was some post. It turns out, there has been some link between Acton and Cunningham about some issue. During the murder, Alec and his father had been smoking near the window
With a lot of effort…..
Holmes pretended as if under attack and then was held to bed. Then, Holmes acts as if he’s being attacked, and soon summons the constables to arrest Cunningham’s.
Why??
It turns out, the note was written alternatively by two people, one strong and the other weak. There also seemed some relation between the two. The robber couldn’t have entered anyhow inside and if Alec was present, he must have helped. When Holmes was seeking help, the Cunningham’s tried to kill him and snatch away the remaining sheet knowing that Holmes cracked the case. The old was weak and the young strong. When Holmes pushed Alec, his revolver fell off, confirming that they were the convicts.

Holmes just acted as if ill, to prevent the Colonel and the Inspector to reveal Holmes result.
This feud turned into a murder and then to a puzzle,
The Reigate Puzzle!
